25 coffee shops and breakfast places inside Charlottesville city limits, with hours from each one's own site: Downtown Mall, West Main, the Corner.
Last checked Oct. 19, 2026. Refreshed every three months.
Most of Charlottesville’s coffee shops and breakfast places sit in a line from the Downtown Mall and Water Street west along West Main Street to the Corner by the University of Virginia. A second group is around Barracks Road and Emmet Street North.
How we made this list. The places come from OpenStreetMap records inside Charlottesville’s city limits, the same data behind our local directory, checked against each place’s own website on Oct. 19, 2026. We added Camellias Coffee, Grit at Gibson Hall, Mudhouse at CODE, Oakhurst Café and Shenandoah Joe’s Studio IX bar from their own sites. SK Coffee & Co. has no website; the Virginia Department of Health’s food inspection records list it as permitted this year. Shenandoah Joe’s Ivy Road bar and Grit at the Wool Factory are in Albemarle County, and Future Coffee is a mobile cart with no fixed spot, so they are not here. Bakeries are on their own list. The list is alphabetical. It is not a ranking or a recommendation, and nobody paid to be on it. Run one of these places? Write to us to correct your entry.
