Charlottesville’s sushi and Asian restaurants are spread widely. The largest groups are on West Main Street between downtown and the University of Virginia, downtown around the Mall and Water Street, and at Seminole Square and Zan Road off U.S. 29.

How we made this list. The places come from OpenStreetMap records inside Charlottesville’s city limits, the same data behind our local directory, checked against each place’s own website on Oct. 19, 2026. Some sites load only in an ordering app we could not read. Those places, and the ones with no website, are on the list only if the Virginia Department of Health’s food inspection records show them permitted with an inspection in the past year. That left out Asian Express, Beijing Station, Hibachi Grill Sushi & Buffet, Lemongrass, Now and Zen and Vu Noodles, whose latest inspections are older, and Kuma Sushi, Thai Fresh and Yuan Ho Gao, which we could not find.
