13 places for burgers inside Charlottesville city limits: the Downtown Mall, the Corner by UVA, Ix and Barracks Road.
Last checked Oct. 19, 2026. Refreshed every three months.
Charlottesville’s burger places gather in two spots: the Downtown Mall and the streets just off it, and the Corner on University Avenue by the University of Virginia, where most stay open to 2 a.m. The rest are at Barracks Road, in Ix off 2nd Street SE, on 4th Street NW and on East High Street.
How we made this list. The places come from OpenStreetMap records inside Charlottesville’s city limits, the same data behind our local directory, checked against each place’s own website on Oct. 19, 2026. A restaurant that is not a burger place is on the list only if its own site names a burger. Jak and Jil has no website; the Virginia Department of Health’s food inspection records list it as permitted this year. We left out the Burger King, Cook Out and McDonald’s restaurants inside the city because their location pages would not load for us, and Riverside Lunch on Hazel Street, which we could not confirm. The list is alphabetical. It is not a ranking or a recommendation, and nobody paid to be on it. Run one of these places? Write to us to correct your entry.
